The success
of Long Distance Casting, which was on the
list for many years but is now sadly out of
print, set in train a remarkable period of
expansion, initially in the areas of sport,
fishing, equestrianism and country sports, but
soon developing into gardening, farming, dogs,
crafts, motoring, military history and aviation.
Our backlist now includes around 600 titles, with
approximately 70 new books published each year.
Crowood's acknowledged classics include The
Skills Of Cricket by Keith Andrew, The
Handbook Of Flytying by Peter Gathercole, Fitness
For Sport by Rex Hazeldine, Bob Church's
Guide To Trout Flies, Fuchsias: A Colour
Guide by George Bartlett and All 14 Eight-Thousanders
by Reinhold Messner.
Highlights of our list today include the
acclaimed Crowood AutoClassics and Crowood
Aviation Series, the highly respected Windrow
& Greene military list, the instructional
Skills of the Game series, the lavishly
illustrated Art of Crafts Series and our detailed
and authoritative pottery books. In 2002 we acquired a number of titles from The Farming Press and in 2003 we acquired virtually the entire list and stock from Airlife Publishing after that company went into receivership.
Based
in Ramsbury, Wiltshire, we remain fully
independent and committed to our aims of
providing detailed, quality information for those
with special interests.
